Working for a Cause: Genuine Passion Fueled by Pain
In today's world, working for a cause has become a fashionable statement for some. But what truly triggers genuine work towards a cause? The answer lies in passion—passion fueled by pain. Srishty faced a profound personal crisis when her 3-year-old child experienced a traumatic event. Instead of seeking revenge, she transformed her pain into a mission to combat child abuse.
Srishty's Journey and the Birth of CAPTAIN PROGRAMME
Srishty, an overprotective mom to a lively and free-spirited son, initiated the CAPTAIN PROGRAMME in 2015 as a voluntary, free-of-charge endeavor. CAPTAIN stands for Child Abuse Prevention and Protection through Training and Intelligent Enabling & Empowerment. With in-depth research and modest means, including a 42" TV at home, she began conducting workshops for children as young as 3 years old on topics like YES touch, NO touch, secret touch, and stranger danger.
Mission and Impact
Dr. Srishty Puri Gajbhiye's mission is to engrave these crucial points in children's lives and empower them to pass on the message to their peers. According to the World Health Organization (W.H.O.), 150 million girls and 73 million boys under 18 have been subjected to forced sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual violence. Dr. Srishty's efforts aim to combat these alarming statistics by truly enabling and empowering children.
What can we do stop children from suffering from this lifelong physical ,emotional , psychological trauma??
Each one can wage a battle just where they are by creating a whirlpool of dialogues specially with the children thereby enabling them and empowering them to protect themselves at all given times..let us help our children understand to recognize the perverts' and to and empower them with self defense strategies ,so they can protect themselves..
